Terms of Service
Effective: October 26, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to workbenches.dev, the Workbenches registry, dashboard, cloud runs, API, MCP server, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Workbenches standard and the wb CLI are
open source and licensed under the Apache License 2.0. That licence governs the software itself. These Terms
govern your use of the Service, including when you use the
CLI with it.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 16 and legally able to enter these Terms. You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials and API keys, promptly report unauthorized access, and take responsibility for activity under your account. Organization owners and administrators control member access and API keys and are responsible for their organization's use of the Service.
3. The Service
Workbenches provides a registry for storing, publishing, and installing Workbenches, cloud runs in hosted sandboxes, repository integrations, an API and MCP server, a dashboard, and related tools. Features may be experimental, unavailable in some regions, or subject to technical, legal, provider, or capacity limits. We may add, change, restrict, suspend, or discontinue features or the Service, subject to applicable law.
4. Your Content, Repositories, and Integrations
"Your Content" includes Workbench packages and images, instructions, messages, repository content, code, files, credentials, secrets, tool configuration, and outputs that you or your integrations supply to the Service. You retain your rights in Your Content. You grant Pompeii Labs, Inc. a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, copy, transmit, modify, display, and otherwise process Your Content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the Service and to comply with law.
You must not submit data, connect a repository, authorize OAuth access, or enable a tool or integration unless you have the rights and authority to do so. You are responsible for Your Content, repository permissions, integration scopes, credentials, and the consequences of instructions or access you provide. Remove secrets and access that are no longer needed.
5. Cloud Runs and Sandboxes
Cloud runs may send your instructions, repository content, files, outputs, configured tools, and permitted secrets to isolated third-party sandbox infrastructure. A run may execute the code and tools a Workbench declares, modify a working copy, push a branch, open a pull request, and produce artifacts or links. Isolation reduces risk but does not eliminate it.
You are responsible for choosing which Workbenches to run, reviewing code and outputs, limiting credentials and permissions, and not exposing sensitive or unlawful material. Do not treat Workbench output as reviewed, production-ready, or safe to execute or merge without your own evaluation.
6. Publishing and Running Workbenches
When you push a Workbench, it is stored as an internal version visible to your organization. When you submit one for public listing and we approve it, anyone may view, install, and run it. For each version you push or publish, you grant Pompeii Labs, Inc. the license in Section 4 plus the right to distribute it to the audience you chose. You represent that you have the rights to publish everything it contains, and that it contains no secrets, malware, or material you are not permitted to share.
We review public submissions and may decline, unlist, or remove any Workbench at our discretion. Our review is not a security audit or a guarantee of quality. Workbenches published by others are provided by their publishers, under any licence they state, and are not endorsed or warranted by us. Run them at your own risk. Separate terms may apply to creator programs, premium Workbenches, and payouts.
7. AI Processing and Outputs
Workbenches does not provide model inference. Runs send model requests using the keys and accounts you connect, such as your OpenRouter account, which may route a request to the underlying model provider selected by you, the Workbench, or your organization. Prompt and response data can therefore be processed by OpenRouter and the routed provider under their respective terms and data practices, and you pay those providers directly.
Retention, logging, and training or improvement practices vary by route, model, and provider. We do not promise that every provider offers zero retention or excludes submitted data from training. Review OpenRouter's Privacy Policy and privacy and provider-logging documentation, as well as the applicable model provider's terms, before submitting sensitive data.
AI and agent outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, insecure, offensive, or unsuitable. You are responsible for reviewing and testing outputs before relying on, publishing, merging, or executing them. The Service does not provide legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
8. Acceptable Use
You must not use or attempt to use the Service to:
- violate law, another person's rights, or contractual or confidentiality obligations;
- create, distribute, or facilitate illegal, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive material;
- harass, exploit, deceive, impersonate, or threaten others;
- introduce malware, disrupt the Service, evade limits, or abuse infrastructure, including mining or other use of sandboxes unrelated to running Workbenches;
- obtain or exfiltrate credentials, secrets, personal data, or repository content without authorization;
- systematically mirror or redistribute Workbenches published by others, except as their licence allows;
- bypass security, access controls, safeguards, monitoring, provider restrictions, or usage controls; or
- probe or test systems without the owner's express authorization.
We may investigate suspected abuse, preserve relevant records, remove or restrict content, limit tools or integrations, and cooperate with providers or authorities where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, third parties, or the public.
9. Usage, Credits, Billing, and Cancellation
Free access, promotional credits, and included usage, including included sandbox-hours, have no cash value, may expire, are not transferable unless we say otherwise, and may be changed or withdrawn. We may enforce usage, spending, rate, and feature limits. Usage beyond an included amount may require payment or be blocked.
Paid plans and usage are billed through our payment provider according to the price, billing period, and renewal terms shown when you subscribe. You authorize applicable recurring and usage charges, up to the spend limit you set, until cancellation. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase. You remain responsible for charges incurred before cancellation. We may change prices with notice required by applicable law and may restrict paid features after failed payment.
10. Suspension, Termination, and Export Requests
You may stop using the Service or cancel your account. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may suspend or terminate any account, organization, Workbench, feature, or access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason or no reason. Your right to use the affected Service ends immediately upon termination.
After termination, an account holder may email hello@pompeiilabs.com to request export of Workbench versions and run records they own or are authorized to receive. A request does not guarantee recovery or delivery. Eligibility, identity and authority verification, available format, timing, retention limits, technical feasibility, and applicable fees may affect the request. We may deny, limit, delay, or condition access where required or reasonably necessary for legal compliance, security, abuse prevention, investigations, protection of third-party rights, provider restrictions, or other lawful reasons. You should keep your own copies of your Workbench packages.
Terms that by their nature should survive termination remain in effect, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and dispute terms.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, characters, and trademarks, is owned by Pompeii Labs, Inc. or its licensors and protected by law. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the Service or grant permission to use the Workbenches or Pompeii names or marks. Open-source software we publish is governed by its own licence. Feedback may be used without restriction or compensation to you.
12. Third-Party Services and Privacy
The Service relies on third parties and may link to or interoperate with repositories, OAuth providers, model providers, sandboxes, payment providers, and other services. Their terms and practices apply to their services, and we are not responsible for them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE, ALL WORKBENCHES, AND ALL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." POMPEII LABS, INC. DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE, ANY WORKBENCH, OR ANY OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, SECURE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR ERROR-FREE.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, POMPEII LABS, INC. AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE LIMITS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
15. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Pompeii Labs, Inc. and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from Your Content, Workbenches you publish, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or another party's rights.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Delaware law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to applicable consumer law, disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and each party consents to their jurisdiction.
17. Changes and General Terms
We may update these Terms by posting the revised version and changing the effective date. We will provide any additional notice required by law. Continued use after the revised Terms take effect means you accept them. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with our business.
